Psychiatrist - Child & Adolescent
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide Psychiatric Services to Multilingual Psychotherapy Clients.
PROCESSING DUTIES
• Conducts Psychiatric Evaluations;
• Provides Medication Management;
• Reviews Laboratory work;
• Certifies for Medical Necessity;
• Follows-up with medication management issues;
• Follows the Center’s procedure for proper storage and dispensing of sample medication;
• Responsible for providing patients with medication education and literature for possible side-effects;
• Attends multidisciplinary case staffings when needed;
• Follows-up on information requests by pharmacies;
• Is available to staff, funding sources, and patients for psychiatric consultation;
• Participate in psychiatric peer review when needed;
• Procures the taking of vital signs;
• Attends the Center’s meetings as requested;
• Assist the President in hiring new psychiatrists;
• Performs chart reviews;
• Represents the psychiatric department in the community (contact with the judicial system, patient’s grievances, and other contractual issues);
• Follows up on CARF standards and guidelines for quality of services.
OTHER DEPARTMENT DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
· Carries cellular phone for availability to the Center.
· Follows The Center’s policies and procedures.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
· Master’s of Science in Nursing and post Master’s certification.
· Minimum of 2 years of experience with children and adolescents.
· Bilingual (English-Spanish or English-Creole) preferred.
