Admissions Assistant
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Under supervision, provides administrative support to the Admissions Department. Coordinates administrative functions necessary to process initial and internal referrals, intake scheduling, and overall administrative support for the Admissions Department.
PROCESSING DUTIES
1. Ensures that referrals to the department contain all necessary information to be entered in Lauris Electronic Records System.
2. Verifies Funding source eligibility
3. Secures funding for clients.
4. Notifies clients and referral sources insurance eligibility.
5. Schedules and confirms intake appointments
6. Assigns chart numbers to new clients.
7. Requests funds via e-mal or fax from funding sources.
10. Faxes initial Primary Care Physician forms (PCP)
8. Distributes referrals to clinical departments.
9. Reviews client information packet for accuracy and completeness.
10. Verify funding monthly for each referral pending
11. Enters initial authorization information as required in Electronic Medical Records System.
CUSTOMER SERVICE DUTIES
1. Responds and attends to inquiries from clients, other agencies/individuals regarding Admissions process at MPCI as well as general questions about services.
2. Communicates with other departments, case workers, and various referral sources.
3. Works in cooperation with other departments within the agency.
4. Sends coordination memos to referral sources to confirm compliance with intake process.
5. Assists clients in completing the client information packet when needed.
OTHER DEPARTMENT DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
1. Attends and participates in staff development training and workshop.
2. Enters data as required in Lauris Electronic Medical Records System.
3. Generates correspondence as required.
4. Other department duties as assigned.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
· Minimum of High School or equivalent and 2 years of experience in administrative duties.
